Well... The wall charger outputs 5.5v, and the psp is only supposed to take 5, so i dunno. 0.5v may or may not make a difference. I wouldn't try it though.

@ bustinthejustin
So, it sounds like if I get a 5v usb charger then technology it would work?

@ Tri-edge & blackburn
Do you know how many volts the ipod wall chargers put out?
Did you do the USB charge MOD?
Does it charge when the PSP unit is turned off?

1. 5 volts
2. No, I did use the plugin to allow me to charge off of usb though
3. No, but If I did do the charge mod it would charge while it was off OR if I bought one of these cables it would charge while it's off http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8693 (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8693)

Uh...

Quote from: ebay
Specification for USB AC power adapter:

    *

      LED power indicator.
    *

      Input: AC100V~240V 0.15A. Output: DC 5.5V. (1.5A max)
    *

      Material: ABS
    *

      Color: Black
    *

Size: 3.0x 1.75 x 1.6 inches (exclude the prong part)
    *

      Weight: 35g

Also, they don't always put out 5v... Some give out less. I have one that puts out about 3v.

Alright, but I still stand by my statement that not all wall chargers give out the same voltages.

Not to beat this to a pulp, but it sounds like I will be able to use that Mini USB wall/car charger?
I'm going to remove my AC plug on my PSP slim and I would like to be able to Charge it while the PSP is off, and be able to charge it in my car.

I thought I would have to mod something inside my PSP to do that, but I can't find the tutorial... or am I wrong?

You'll need to do the USB charge mod to get it to charge while off. There's a tut In the psp phat section, but the solder points are the same.

Wait what?
Why are you doing the USB charge mod if you have a slim?
Go get the plugin instead O_O

I'm sure you have to have your psp on for it to charge with that plugin.

1. because he can
2. so it charges while it's off
3. if for whatever reason he decides to remove the powerplug (dual nub)

no you can't, and if you somehow run out of battery you can't turn it on to charge it again. So that's the usefulness of the usb charge mod.
