AMD Athlon 64 X2 ex. 2.0Ghz
AMD Turion 64 X2 ex. 1.8Ghz
Intel Core 2 Duo ex. 1.8Ghz
I'm pretty sure that intel is better, but are the Athlon and the Turion good Alternatives?
Also off topic, but is a NVIDIA GeForce Go1650 a Decent card for gaming? i heard they suck on vista running with a GB of RAM and only like 30 FPS on Counter Strike with med setting?!?!?
EDIT: oops my bad i meant the graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce Go6150

That graphics card is HORRIBLE. Get a better one, if you can.
Also, I'd go with the C2D, then 2nd would be the Athlon, then the Turion. Well, that's my opinion.
I'm also partial to Intel over AMD, though, lol.
-
lol thx man i'm a Intel man myself and is it possible to change a graphics card in a laptop? [sry newb question]
-
Most laptops have integrated graphics, in which case, no. lol
-
I would recomend the intel. Oh and also the graphics card in your laptop is sometimes upgradable it is just not that easy. If you are going for a gaming laptop you need to look for something a little more powerfull.
-
yea i wanted to look at the new 7 series of geforce and in the future i plan getting a Quad Core or to make things easy just go gonna get a custom alienware lol! =p

I thought the 9 series is the newest for laptops?
-
probably is i just know that 7000 series is easy to find and have good prices
-
Yeah...the 9 series is the highest laptop gpu I've seen.
You're generally not going to be able to replace it, as far as I know almost all laptops have integrated graphics. I've never actually seen one without.
-
Yeah. You have serious balls if you're going to attempt to replace a laptops graphics card. I probably wouldn't even attempt a RAM upgrade lol.
-
What's the point buying gaming laptop? :sadno:
-
Well, think about it...
It's a GAMING LAPTOP....GAMING...
-
I see what he's saying, for less than half of the price of a gaming laptop you can get an awesome LanBOX. It's all up to if you want to spend the money on it or not...
-
And if you are willing to spend that much money, then go ahead and buy a macbook pro. It has dual gpus and one of them is a 9xxx series.
-
Even if I got that money... still :sadno:
Mac also, I think twice :sadno:
Laptop initially notebook, means mobile computing, means light, means long lasting battery, means usefull
I think that what laptop is, :yess:

I agree for the price of a good Gaming Laptop you can get a Much better PC....
If you need a laptop for traveling its supposed to be LIGHT, small, and a large battery... But that my opinion.
-
Yea the whole point for getting a laptop is for mobility and it takes up space. like in my room I'm pretty sure i can't fit a whole desktop in there lol, little room. that's also why they're more expensive too because they have to pack so much stuff into one package. Also I'm not really a Mac guy I know i can replace it with windows, but i just like the comfort of a PC more
