I installed an internal mic (hidden behind the bottom right speaker hole indention on the faceplate) and i was wondering if it will work with online games like socom, etc. I read something about a plugin but idk....

I had this thing a downloaded for a PSP phone but I dont have a mic installed yet :P
Any Tuts on how you put the mic inside?

yeah i can make one in a bit i just got a new high res scanner so i can scan the wifi board and make a tutorial
also, yeah i have Furikup installed on my PSP so i can call people from it, and it works very well, the mic clarity is aboslutly amazing, better that the headset in my opinion, i got the mini mic out of a broken motorola house phone that was pretty expensive (untill my mom broke it) so i ripped the mic out of it and installed it in the PSP

It should work with Socom without any plugins. It would be just like if you had a headset. I believe socom supports voice anyway.
Does the mic fit all the way inside? I mean if you were to look at it would you be able to tell it's there?

About yourquestion, Im not sure you can use it for games, except for that game that teaches you to speak another language :P probibly the only game
Maybe someone can create a game, not sure
O, and another question, does the PSP reconize it as a mic?

Like I said, I think socom has a chat/voice feature anyway. Also it would be good to know if the psp recognizes it as a mic. If it does, you can use it for skype or Go!messenger.
Plus since the psp 3000 has an internal mic and the 2000 supports a headset, then they may start making more games that have support for the mic or that use one.

no, you cannot even notice that its there....
yeah the mic works with all the homebrew ive tried.. and a few other things but every time i ask online in socom if they can hear me, no one responds.

Well mabey they don't have a cool internal mic to speak into? I see no reason that it shouldent work in socom if it works other places.

They released a PSP USB microphone here:

You would probably have to gut that, wire your own internal mic to it, and run wires to the internal PSP USB socket. When all of the excess stuff is ripped off, it probably would fit inside the PSP.

Except if it's anything like the chotto/ go cam it's gonna be a pain in the a$$ to disassemble.

As always, with these :censored: annoying Sony add-ons. But it seems that wiring that thing up to the USB would be the only way for the microphone to function properly.

I already installed an internal mic, its basically the exact same thing as having the headset plugged in, except the remote isn't plugged in. I just need to find a way to have the serial port on and working during a game.

I already know that sony created a mic for the psp, I just hate things sticky out on the USB area, it makes it look fatter then it already is =.=
Thats why I love it when people install stuff such as cameras, motion sensors, mics, ect into the psp :dribble:
Thats why I always want to learn how to do stuff lke that without canceling anything else out :P

theres not much learning to it, i just used an exacto knife to open up the right speaker hole and then glue the mic to the side of the LCD cage (thats like exactly where the hole is :hifive: ) that way i can still take the faceplate on and off and soldered it to pin1 and pin 3 in the wifiboard

Sounds very simple, most things probibly are, I just never know where to wire them, or some programming, this mic thing can really help my iWish proto :P

Im probibly going to do this whith my psp, my mom has so many broken phones, I can use one of there pieces, I wish I could use there cameras =.=
Unfortunetly some1 told me you cant in another thread...
