Title: Transparent PSP Slim Case Mod
Post by: slslasher on February 24, 2009, 04:01:40 AM
My 4th mod. A transparent pink housing. Its just a simple mod with 22 white leds. 12 on the backplate and 8 on the frontplate, 2 on the L and R triggers. L0rdNiC0's Sound Reactive LED Mod with 1 LM386 1 30k and 1 191k resistor.

Well he does have a vid, and it looks GREAT! How'd you get them so reactive? Most people I know who use l0rdnic0's method have their leds barely reactive. Also, it looks more like the transistor method to me.

I think it is because of the song i choose. It has a lot of beat. Around in the middle of the video it isnt so reactive.

aahh, forget about what i said earlier. When i am playing DJMax Portable, it is blinking like mad, actually it is quite irritating when playing game when it keeps blinking so much... I got my LM386 from www.westfloridacomponents.com (http://www.westfloridacomponents.com)

Lol you really did it with lm386? Why didn't you add a switch?

yeah, haha. See this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mskDgnc9VN4 The blue 1 i just modded it today, its my sis. It has the same concept as mine but i dont know for what reason it is more reactive then mine >.<

That's weird O_O Maybe it's the way you connected it, or because all psps have slightly different speaker outputs.

its the led color
since the red takes about 2.4v to be powered they stay on more easily
unlike the blue that take about 3.4-3.6v to turn on making them harder to turn on

Actually both sets leds are white. Its the housing which is transparent pink and blue.

Maybe its the resistors used? The 191k and 30k resistors could be different like 1/8w or 1/4w? Maybe that affects the reactivity a little.

Hmm shld not be the watt rating. Might be the tolerance. Mines 5% for both.

probably just experiment , around by using different amount of resistors ,

Nope that wont affect the sensitivity
