Title: sound reactive led mod question
Post by: Killswig on February 24, 2009, 07:25:55 PM
Alright, I found this (https://acidmods.com/ShopUSA/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=30), and I was wondering if it was able to work for psp 1000's?

By looking at it I would like to think it would, but i cant tell for sure...

Yeah! It would definitely work for the phat. The only few changes are the speaker solder points, the wifi location and the 5v solder point location.

Thanks, I also have one more question: Is that cold heat soldering tool safe to use on a psp, cause the only soldering tool i have is this heavy duty 200watt one that i think is a bit much.

Well yeah, the one you have is way to much for the type of soldering you'll be doing. Because, when it comes to modding our game consoles, we're looking at precision work as well as precision soldering. The type of soldering iron I use is only 25 watts purchased at Radio Shack. So far so good.

As long as it has a nice pointy tip its cool.  These components on the PSP, especially the Slim are just so damn small.  I dont think the components can get any smaller than that..
