Hey all. I originaly made this diagram for Blazinkaos for use in his slim psp although it should work in a phat too. I thought id post it here too to see what you guys think of it. It uses the wifi switch and two other switches. This should allow you to switch between 4 modes: sound reactive-blue, sound reactive-purple, solid-blue, and solid-purple by using different combinations. They can also be turned off using the wifi switch since it provides the ground for the leds and the LM386. The colors of the leds could also be changed of course.

let me know what you think

that looks all good, nice work, pain in the ass to fit 2 switches in but its a good idea. could do this with a pic prolly, if someone knew how to code em.
-
Thanks for the reply. I was trying to avoid a pic so that everyone could do it. You could fit two switches along the right side trim if they are small.

Pic controlled outputs would be nice, but it can get complicated.
-
naa i found a good place for the switches you guys will see once its finished im waiting on the switches and leds coming in.
-
Can't wait to see it.
-
its going to be beautiful one the best mods i pretty much done on a psp.

Where did you find quad-colored 0603s!??!
-
They are not quad colored, just blue LEDs and purple LEDs. 4 of each color LED (pictured in the diagram. There is a switch that switches MODES, and a switch that changes which color LEDs are used.
-
I wish they had bi-color 0603's.
-
They do. And RGB ones too. They are a bit larger but still smt.

yea its true

There actually are quad colors leds, smt also... I found some in an i-dog i took apart.
-
nice one rceck...i'll try this one..this one looks awesome..

Ive got loads, bought them at 10p each, ordered about 100 of em
-
wow ur stocked for awhile
-
Thats what you think. I bought 300 blue leds, gone in about 3 months >.>
-
couple of months back I knocked over my shelves, lost about 100 green leds from a draw that had about 300 loose green leds. They just disapear into your carpet.
Leds never last long, I never seem to have enough.
-
wow guys when u buy ur leds dnt have them in those capsules. i keep mine in those i lost couple in my life time but never that much.
Thats what you think. I bought 300 blue leds, gone in about 3 months >.>
cuz ur always modding psps and other ppls
-
Dang. Even 100 LEDs would last me forever. I can understand losing them though because I've done that before. also burning them with the iron.
-
yea i remember when i first started they would bet burned all the time. i would use up a lot of leds if i have more customers com to me for modding i dnt get as many any more.
-
The 0603 RGB leds I have, since its 3 stuck together, its a bit big lol, about the size of 1206
And yeah, last year I ordered a reel of 1000 Red LEDs for £15, it was on clearence, then I used about 100 of them, then somebody in my school who tries to copy everything I do buys it off me for £50, and he couldnt even solder one... Hes still buying LEDs off me to this point, he still thinks his 'cold heat' soldering iron can solder... Tried to tell him there even worse than using a hair dryer
Oh yeah, since I have a carpet in my 'modding room', when I drop leds, I can never find them agian, but recently i got a really big speaker (With a magnet on it) and brushed it along the carpet, i found hundreds of LEDs LOL
Now i have the long process of finding out what colour they are

My leds always come in that weird plastic tapy thingy, then when im done with them i pop them into a labeled resealable bag

Lol, ive never burned an LED with a soldering iron, but once of twice when I was starting soldering, I did melt off the pads on the 0603 leds
You should see how many components i have, last year i spent about £300 just on components (LEDs, caps, diodes, sensors, wire)
I have 4 different colours of kynar 30 AWG wire lol (I hate using magnet wire, yes its thinner, but you scratch it, and it can easily short)
Also i have loads of different heatshrink sizes, and I even managed to find some LM386 in SMD form, I soldered them and put them INSIDE heatshrink, it was so tiny, I actually mounted it ontop of the motherboard and it was fine
PS: Anybody know how to use an ocsilloscope, my dad gave me one but I dont know how to use it lol...
-
somebody in my school who tries to copy everything I do
dude, someone at my school does that, and almost killed himself taking apart a crt monitor. He was stupid enough to leave it plugged in and not wear insulating gloves... *facepalm*
-
what a dumb smuck :taunt:
-
lol this is weird blazinkaos showed me this diagram when he was helping me 2 days ago
-
lol this one kid decides he doesnt want to copy me, he wants to top me -.- Like im considered the "tech-nerd" at my school, and so whenever someone mentions that I can do X, he goes "pfft, thats not hard," or "lol i can do that." Like one time their class (im not in his class) was talking about building computers, then they mentioned that I could probably build one, and he was like "noes, building a computer is almost impossible" and another time he was doing a project that involves video editing, and one of his group embers was likr "lets get justin to edit it" and hes like "oh i can do it." - yea he ended up using windows movie maker.
-
he still thinks his 'cold heat' soldering iron can solder... Tried to tell him there even worse than using a hair dryer
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Best thing in this whole thread. And yes i agree, Magnetic wire, SUCKS. I only use it on VERY rare occasions when i have to use it for its thinness. And your super addicted to buying electronics. :D
-
lol no, he has too much spare cash :(... Should magnet wire be used for button leds or will kynar work fine?
-
idk i like magnetic wire so i stick with it and whats better then having 3000 ft of it.
-
having 3000 ft of it and sending half of it to me?
-
:eyebrow: its not free...
-
lol ;) i r joking.
-
i assumed that..
-
Thanks for the diagram, this should come in handy...
