Title: need parts
Post by: Modded Matt on March 09, 2009, 07:38:22 AM
hello all, I am new to the psp, but not new to modding by an means, LOL... my brother in law (13) brought me his psp when they came to visit this weekend and it is in bad shape.

every door hinge is broken, all of them, battery, memory, game door hinge.
if I change the case, it will fix all of thse correct???
the anolog nub cover is completly gone, he uses the little stick poping up to play LOL, and the stick drifts slightly and will lock up from time to time.
can I change the whole nub? how dificult?
I will get into leds and that stuff later, thats the easy part, after I get it all working agian

where do you recomend buying cases and parts from?? a reliable source that someone here has used and can vouch for? I know Llamma is trust worthy, but they are way over priced on everythingelse, why would the psp be any diferent?? LOL

Yeah it has alot to choose from, just be careful what you pick as some of it is real and great quality while others are cheap knockoffs.

If you're looking for a full case, i would suggest www.coolmods.co.uk.  I bought a dealextreme case that didn't work, and ended up in the trash :(

coolmods is expensive, and their quality isnt as great as its hyped up to be. i got a faceplate from there that is quite unsatisfactory. just warning ya that not all their stuff is perfect. although most probably is.

if the nub still insists on drifting you can hardwire it from nub to motherboard instead of using that useless peice of rubbish contact.

Yeah, ive compared their cases, im pretty sure coolmods even get some of there parts from dealextreme lol

But yeah, even the clear cases, EXACTLY the same, apart from dealextreme one has writing in it (Which I prefer) and coolmods is more than double the price
