Title: KillDogz psp *****Updated 6*****
Post by: killdog on March 18, 2009, 02:29:09 PM
hay guys im a bit bored of waiting for all my stuff for my mods to come so im gonna write up a plan to tell you what im gonna do then when its done ill post a new topic and get ur reviews on how the psp comes out so heres what i wanna do.

Now im gonna be modding a psp slim and i was thinking of doing these mods and remember this is my second psp im gonna be modding and you may think im jumping in at the deep end but owell lol

so i was thinking about doing a red and black theme for the psp

Smokey black shell red cherry buttons and red trim for show then i im gonna put in a sick mods fader and make the ring of light fade in and out of red im also going to be making the D pad and X O  /_\ sq have sound reactive in them and also in the middle of them aswell  now im not sure what im gonna do with the triggers yett could be any one of them fader or sound reactive not sure yett but anyways ill carry on then i was thinking of putting a Cr-3100 in the umd drive space and mayby try and fit a 50mm speaker in there i should have enuf space since the speaker is only 9.5mm deep and the cr-3100 is only small anywayz and on the speaker put sound reactive in the middle and if i do think im up to it i mite put a go cam in the back and front but thats not decided yett so i dunno and if i can get anymore red leds im gonna go around the outlining of the shell with red leds and make the back leds sound reactive and the front fader so please let me know what you guys think and if you want give me some more ideas cuz i dont care about jumping in at the deep end cuz i enjoy modding.

but please dont give me ideas for a dual nub cuz i dont like them that much adn dont see the point lol

...um dual nubs are for fps games and make them a hell of a lot more fun/easier to play.

as for jumping in at the deep end.. this is ur 2nd psp and u intend to do all this??? no offense but i doubt u will be able to deal with all the wiring and stuff. Also, even if u could do it i wouldnt recommend it because subtle lighting is nice but 50 leds crammed everywhere is a little overboard.

also, arent u a modder for hire? how could u be a modder for hire when uve only ever modded 1 psp? Finally, good luck if u really wanna go through with this

thanks and yh i am a MFH and ive only done one psp but i put alot of work into that psp and now i wanna do another psp and make it ten times better and in order to get this slim done im gonna need to plan it properly and think what im gonna do first and what needs to be done last or else this will not work.

You might like to know the UMD Area is about 5mm, SO that speaker wont really work out if you have the right measurement. :D

Post by: DarkShot on March 18, 2009, 06:20:49 PM
What you got planned is a little overboard, so you might want to tone it down as bustin said.

And unless you don't want the speaker to be flush, your better off getting a thinner one.

Why not get a jewel to show off the CR-3100?

And by the way, could you use punctuation?

It'd make it alot easier for everyone to read.

you better care about the wires... if u dont manage them properly you will have wires everywhere and u wont be able to figure out how to close the psp.

also, can i see a vid/thread about your first psp please?

your speaker might be a little too big to fit in the umd drive with a cr-3100. you need a speaker that is at the most 4mm thick. you only have 7.5mm - 8mm to work with in regards to umd drive space. there is a way to get more room. When i made the nightshade slim, i added a ring of light jewel and fitted a grill to the same level as the jewel. then, when the jewel is fitted, it stands out from the back of the door giving you some extra milimeters.

When i installed the speaker and cr-3100, it fitted perfectly. you can get the jewel from shatteredmods or here if you ask.

Should look like this,

I honestly doubt you'll succeed with dual nubs on your second psp.. Very few moders can do it on the slim, because u have to solder to super tiny zif connector pins...

killdog , dude i really think you're being too ambitious on ur psp. Take it a step at a time. Dual nub will be pushing it.....

It's easier. i've got one of those cr-5400 and it works great. plus you would save space in the umd drive. However, the 16gb cards for that are more expensive than the normal SD cards used on the cr-3100

Sorry for the late reply, i've been very busy here. the speaker came from rapid.com. it's a nice looking speaker but it isn't that loud (Might work better if i could be arsed to use an amp). i've now changed it out of another one i ripped out of a psp 100 music stand. it's alot louder than the one before hand.

Killdog, like the work you've done so far mate. Looking forward to the completed product.
