Agreed. Black face/back plate, with red buttons, and red trim. Top it off with a custom jewel and leds, and it will look awesome!

How much would it cost to get a  custom jewel of this image?:

You could ask skullmaster or contact ken at shatteredmods.com (http://shatteredmods.com) to get a price quote. Its usually about 10$ for the vector anf 10$ for the actual jewel. The red trim you will have to either a)buy a red case and take the trim from that or b)spray paint a regular trim yourself.

Thanks,

i just sent skullmaster a PM regarding the custom jewel.

Just wondering would this case be good for the buttons & side trim?

Edit ok i was messing around in paint and i made a "concept" of what the psp will look like (Borrowed image of lucas' psp)
Tell me what you think!...

That would be good for the buttons and trim, but why not just make a topic over in the Auctions forum?

Could get it cheaper, and much much faster too.

Yup :) I recently bought this: http://www.focalprice.com/PSP2000_Slim_Full_Replacement_Case_Shell_Red_GS148R_3432.html (http://www.focalprice.com/PSP2000_Slim_Full_Replacement_Case_Shell_Red_GS148R_3432.html) and it looks great! They're basically the same, but the focalprice one is cheaper and focalprice ships stuff faster than dealextreme.

But of course they have no white casings >.<

Here's your options to do it

1. Buy a full red case
Pros
-Get everything in one go
-Get the trim
Cons
-Have to take off the ring (very hard to do without scratching or bending it
-Spend $10 more

2. Buy parts separately and paint the trim
Ring

Buttons
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21251 (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21251)

Pros
-Save $10
-Easier to apply the ring
-Reusing old stuff (saves the environment  :winker:)
Cons
-You don't get everything in one go
-You have to paint the trim (which isn't that hard, and might look nicer in the end)

To be honest the red ring doesnt look very good anyway so i wouldnt worry too much about it. A custom jewel with red leds would look much better

when you guys paint the shell or the trim, does the paint scratch easy?  Meaning if you scratch it, would it peel the paint completely off?

if you use clear coat, and follow the instructions on cure time, it shouldnt.

Just put a clear coat over it that will protect it.
