Post by: EliteGamer83 on March 25, 2009, 08:48:38 AM
Ok first, which cause do you like more? I can't decide between the 2, now for the first one it has more fans but I'd be getting another 120mm fan for the second case.

First Choice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156063 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156063)
Second Choice + Fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144238 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144238)
Fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998121 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998121)

Which one do you like more?

Now I'm going to be building my first custom PC,

Ok, I know what to pick out for most everything excpt for mobo but I think I did ok. Now it will be running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128372 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128372)

PSU: http://www.amazon.com/OCZ-OCZ600SXS-StealthXStream-Power-Supply/dp/B000QF1EK4/ref=pd_bbs_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1237942307&sr=8-6 (http://www.amazon.com/OCZ-OCZ600SXS-StealthXStream-Power-Supply/dp/B000QF1EK4/ref=pd_bbs_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1237942307&sr=8-6)

GFX Card (Gonna try dual-cards): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162007 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162007)

Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166)

Hard Drive (1 TB + 250 GB + current 500 GB, I do video editing): http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Caviar-Green-WD10EADS/dp/B001IEZX3G/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1237945713&sr=1-5 (http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Caviar-Green-WD10EADS/dp/B001IEZX3G/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1237945713&sr=1-5)

Disk Drive: Current Desktop's With Light scribe

Case: Need to decide

Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115206 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115206)

TV Card: Current Desktop's

Extra Fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998121 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998121)

Now I know these are not the Top-of-the-Line parts, but this is a budget build.

Case #2
Video Cards are OK, if you willing to spend a bit more i can show you some better cards, and i wouldn't go with galazy, i would go with BFG Tech, or eVGA(my choice )
I would go for at least a 780i chipset mobo....
RAM looks good
HDD is fine.
Dude... go for a Quad Core, you can get a Q6600 for cheap cheap cheap
Fans look ok, If you want to step up the quality a bit, try some Antec Tri-Cool fans, they are what i use

So pretty much all of you say to get the SNIPER case?
And are GFX good? I'm not sure about the brand but I know fur sure that I want a NVIDIA 9600 just not sure which brand I should get.
Also JW, how do I the USB ports work on a PC with a case? cause the USB(s) are installed directly to the mobo how do they get to all those different places on the case? jw.. (lol very noobish Q huh?)

Well I'll see how got it get's before I do that if I do that. Also are the GFX cards and mobo ok? those are only parts I'm not 100% sure if they are GREAT or just GOOD.

Man I'm such an idiot, my current PC cost about $1000 and the one I'm making costs $500 sure I mean I got a monitor with it but that only added about $200

Dude, only $69.99 after mail-in rebate. =D

Just wondering, is building a custom PC just as easy as getting all the right parts and plugging them in, then installing the software?
Also Are most TV cards and disk drives pretty universal?

For the most part ,yes. Bios updates and other things of the sort can get tricky.

Well It didn't come with a installation disc as far as I know for the disc drive. It was pre-built in my PC but if I was doing a custom I would take it out of this one and install it into the new one.

Well the evga card is overclocked from the factory so of coarse its going to get hotter than the galaxy card.... but from personal experience and from what I've heard, galaxy cards have issues......
