Title: i never thought i would make a subject like this
Post by: Tec_ on March 26, 2009, 11:23:40 PM
ive never been a fan of the "whine about live posts" but i just need to dump all this some ware.

so what it comes down to is that im not happy with ware i am in life right now.

i have a degree in electronics technology and i am currently installing cash registers in fast food restaurants. it sucks, any one with a basic knowledge of computers can do what im doing, i feel as if im wasting what i went to school for. i love building computers and i have actually won a computer modding contest held by CPU Magazine (for my Lian Li box i have built but haven't had time to post a final work log in my thread yet) i am not being treated fairly at my company, none of us are. i have been applying for jobs but haven't herd back from any one other than to tell me that there not interested in me at this time. i travel A LOT for work and have no social life to speak of because im never home, for example i was suppose to hang with a buddy of mine this weekend but at the last min i had to drive from MN to GA. so now i wont get to see my friends and i wont be home fore some time.

all of this has taken a physical, psychological, and financial toll on me. on top of all of this i still have not completely gotten over the death of one of my mentors almost two years ago.

so there isn much point to this thread, im not expecting any thing just thought it could help to get this off my chest.

i think im going to start to work on geting all my images for my computer ready for posting

I'm gonna keep it short, Life is tough. Hang on in there , things will definitely get better. Problem is that with the ongoing recession , employment opportunities are gonna be less. Hang on till the job scenario improves and you will definitely get a better job. btw ever considered applying abroad ? You might have better luck that way........

Same lol, still doing newspaper rounds to this day LOL

But yeah, the recession sucks ass, my parents had to pay off a £60,000 mortgage for the house when they got married, and there still paying it off, houses in London (In my area) have gone up to £400,000-£500,000. Its gonna be tough, so Im probaly gonna move country or something

Dont know what I want to be though... I seriously dont know where and what to do, should I study graphic design and become a professional? Become a web devolper? Those jobs dont get paid enough... Become a hardware designer for aTi? Way too hard...

Become an entrepuener?... If i find a good idea

(Make your own company)

I hear ya man, but like dhruvrock2000 said, in this resession you should consider the fact that you are blessed to still have a job. a job that sucks and pays the bills is better than no job, unimployment is only 60% I dont know about you, but I couldnt live off 60% of my sallery. I have had to let go 4 of my 15 guys in the past 3 months, I feel real bad for them, but it is what I must do to sustain this buisness. (I run a small construction company/architectural consulting service)the market I am in is super tough right now. we have cut back everything and are operating at 2% profit, and 5%overhead. last year this time we were turning 40% profit and 10% overhead.  sorry, now I am venting. keep your head up, like I said consider yourself lucky your working, thats what keeps me getting up every morning.

thats the only way we can compete, the housing market has gone under, and the commercal end is getting flooded with these substandard contractors, who are under bidding everything. keep in mind 2% profit is after all payroll, invoices and expenses, LOL my sallery is unaffected, my bonuses are where it hurts(I did say run the company, not own the company. the owner has so much money he dont know what to do with it. thats why we can afford to operate like this, as long as we are not taking a loss.) like I said I am glad to be working, I get at least two walk-ins daily looking for a job. it will only be a matter of time before things turn around, we just have to get by for a while

Yeah, but i'm prolly going to have to be a non-combat engineer or something, because i have tourettes (which is enough to keep me from the academy)
