malware- a virus that may affiliate your computer of malicious (green or pinkish) products

Trojan horse- know not technically as a virus (A backdoor created by hackers and system jackers). A type of program that allows a host engine (Ex sources. games accessing emails) to do various functions like having the ability to download or save files at the user's computer or even monitor their actions and control the computer

adware- a virus that introduces or promotes various advertisements in an uncontrollable rate

For trojan, it actually is just a file that is pretending to be another legitimate file, but they usually do what you said anyway
