Hello, Im new here and am dying to do the sound reactive led mod to my slim(first mod ever and dont want to :censored: anything up).I have found alot of ways to do this mod by searching the forum. Id like to set the mod up without a lm386,a 2n2222,resistors or a switch.I decided the direct contact method ,i guess using just the 2x Leds. So, how would I set up 2x uv/purple leds to a 3.5v power supply and the speakers? Will i still have both speakers functioning after the mod?
These are the Specs for the purple leds i want to use
Technical Specifications
Source Material: InGaN
Emitting Colour: UV
Emitting Wavelength (nm): 400-410
Size: 1.2 x 0.8 mm
Intensity (mcd): 60-100
Viewing Angle (deg): 120
Forward Voltage (V): 3.0-3.6
Forward Current (mA): 20-30
Thanks

Hm... Okay you have to understand a few things here. You can't use the wifi switch (the switch most people use) with direct contact leds. Also, there is no 3.5v point, and when doing direct contact, you won't use any points other than the speakers anyway. But no matter how you do it, your speakers will still work unless you mess up. If you do wish to do direct contact, then just solder the + and - of the leds to the speakers and you're good. Most people use the left speaker, and the bottom contact for that is +. Also, wiring leds in parallel will be the only way you can do this. If you don't know what parallel means, google "parallel leds".
Good luck!

:yess: O, also will the leds stay pulsating while using my headphones?
Thanks a bunch!!

nope, they work only when they get sound from the speakers.

Can You Not Do Them In Parrel, Say By Having One Led Attached To One Speaker And Another To The Other Speaker.. ?
-
Yea you could do that too.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but if you use direct contact LEDs, does that mean the LEDs are gonna be on whenever the PSP is on? Probably a stupid question but whatever, I'm new to this :P

Yea. I'm not sure if they're on when there's no music though...
