I'm the proud owner of a Barrett Model 99A1 .50 Cal BMG (29 inch barrel) with a Bushnell Elite 3200 scope attached. Sadly, it's locked away in my father safe because I don't use it all that often (ammo = expensive). I got it as a gift from an uncle for my 18th B-Day (well, I got it in Jan but it was my 18th B-Day present) I wasted about 100 bucks in rounds (like 40 shots lol) and cleaned/locked it up. Nothing like blasting cinder blocks apart @ 250+ yards to relieve some stress. I'd really like to get a G3k though, semi auto + accuracy FTW...

Why do u guys need weapons like this ???? Maybe its a culture difference but anyone care to explain ? I thought u guys had a very efficient law enforcement system with low crime rates so i'm guessing self protection ain't the motive.......
-
well because we have the right to guns and we use that right... heavily
honestly my dads gonna be gettin a 12 gauge pritty soon
nothin special
but itll blow the... outta any guy that breaks into our home
btw... are u from texas lol

It isn't as if we carry them with us >.<; but there are lots of competitions for shooting different classes of guns. It's kind of like 'why would you dress up in tight clothing and ram each of your friends at top speeds and fight over a ball.' Because it's fun, takes patience and skill to do it, and requires self control.

i all you u need, is to pay the $300 tax stamp, on the weapon when you purchase it, and file a bunch of paperwork... It can be up to a month before you actually get the gun, because they have to do background checks and such to make sure you dont have any felonys. Then all the paperwork has to process, etc. etc
-
sure there is alot of paper work involved, but the full auto endorsment is a pain to get. alot worse than even a concealed permit. I have been denied twice for a full auto endorsment. becouse of one little blip on my record that is not suppoed to be ther in the first place. (I got in some trouble when I was 16/17) they granted a handgun permit, and rifles and shotties are no problem, but the not the full auto.
these guns are for collectors/hobbies...some people think it is strange that I have 11 wireless xbox 360 controllers LOL but thats what I am into, to each his own.

i wish i new what the laws are on foreigners owning guns so that i could start to plan my gun collection

yeah, guns a are very large part of me and my family, and for us getting the full auto flyer isnt an issue and isnt THAT hard to get, its just finding an automatic rife that was made before ~1985 (pre-ban). You can find them all the time......at a price of $25,000 for a full auto M16

what county u from?

i can not tell you how badly i want to collect some WWII guns. such as a M-1, M-1911, browning automatic rife, ect...

Actually, you should look into joining the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program). They sell military grade (don't buy anything but military grade, i warn you) M-1 garand and greek surplus 30-06 ammo (the best AND cheapest you can buy). But the time to get in is now, the ammo supplies are dwindling...

GOOD CHOICE! lol, i would have had to scold you if you had a DPMS

Lol , you guys could be weapons experts for all you know ! I've never even touched a gun :( its both extremely hard and extremely easy to get guns where i live, if you know the right places and people in my country , you could get all sorts of fully automatic guns for around a 1000 dollars i guess (thats where the terrorists get them from) but of course law abiding citizens have on access to these even for self protection.....
-
yeah and soon things will be getting bad in the gun market... obama has a HUGE upcoming ban on almost all weapons, including some shotguns and hunting riles
god i hate that guy....... :sadno: :sadno: :x:

I help my dad do:
30-06, .223 (for the AR), .308, 7.62 mm (for my mini-30).
and this should have all the info you need about the CMP:
http://www.odcmp.com/ (http://www.odcmp.com/)
OH and btw, i meant service grade earlier, not military grade, lol... wasn't thinking.
