Title: Help with psp 2nd joystick(ps2 style)

Hi i hav wired the psp propally but i would like to know if i hav to cut the trace off all X, O , /\, [ ] and also ground for it to work?
Cause i tried wireing it u with the trace on still and i would like to know if to remove the trace or not

no need to cut the traces, that would just disable the face butttons, YES it has to be grounded, thats what XO[]/\ switch between.

so cut the trace for the ground and not for the rest?

Did you do the A2D mod to the joystick yet. If not, that's the problem. Just type A2D into the search area.

no i didnt but its a joystick like the ps2 not like the psp so i didnt do the A2D mod.
but i hav a psp slim nub that i hav from a old slim
can i jus put that in somehow?
Can som1 show me a diagram to do this please.

No lights come on or anything at all. I think its that bored i tried to solder to thats y its not workin anymore. PLease help me wit wat i need to do to fix my psp.
I really need it cause i will be goin away Friday and i need it fix before then.
I thank every1 that is already helping as i goin to.

ok i fixed the psp
it was just some loose wires from my speajer mod shortin the psp
so it works again so im goin to try the mod again

You have to convert the analog from ananlog resistance to digital switching, This is done by scratching the traces.

here is a tutorial, for cutting the traces, and making it removable.

I hav done all of that already and is defenately connected propaly on the joystick side but i am not sure how to ground it to the psp
dats all i need to know now
