Hey guys, I disassembled my psp and I was about to take off that metal shielding that sits on the motherboard. It looks like it is connected to the actual mobo. Is there anyway I can remove this and if not, will it block me from installing leds?
-
The one that sits on top of it? It's not attached at all.. Just take it off. It shouldn't require any effort.
-
I read that disassembly and clear case guide, and it said that I shouldn't even try to remove the shielding if it's not connected to the backplate. Screw it and give it a go?
-
O_o? What? Picture of what you're referring to? I'm lost...
-
Sorry for being unclear, but what I am talking about is at step 6 at this.

what mobo do you have if its a ta-088 or above its attached to the mobo DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE IT
-
So if I am above that MOBO, is there any way I can install sound sensitive LEDs?
-
can you tell me what mobo you have?
its like a ta-088 or ta-085 there also may be a v1 v2 or v3 after that tell me and i can help you more
-
Alright well sorry I didn't know about the newer mobos thing... Okay, well it shouldn't matter. Just leave it, it shouldn't affect your ability to install sound reactive LEDs.
-
it's a ta-088
-
Then yeah, just leave the metal shielding thing. It shouldn't affect your ability to do SR LEDs.
-
dont remove the metal shield..it is used for grounding and heat transfer..
-
Keep it even if it is removable. It has nothing to do with the speaker output, and you probably can ground your leds to it as well.
-
yup especially u dont want to solder to mobo..
-
you are guys joking right? this topic is a year old.
