I managed to rake up 8k in the bank after I sold my truck, and with teh job. Too much of a pain in the @$$ to drive into town, much less park.
Now i decided to get a sports coupe but im torn between two choices. what should i get:

my friend had the cobalt and it kicks a$$ in the gogo. i personally think the front of the camaro is not smooth enough, but it is your money. w/ the cobalt you have less HP but less curb weight. you can have all the HP in the world, but if its in a tank it does not matter.

thats what i was thinking, power / weight ratio. but the camaro has t-top :tup:

and auto. if that goes, it like the differnce b/t apples and oranges. auto trans to fix (min)1000$ and manual trans, just fix the part. i know this does not matter now but in the long run it will. also more mods for the cobalt, and you know WE love mods, right.

ya i know. my moms 2002 dodge caravan - the transmission crapped out at 112,700-ish miles (!), the funny part is, we were goin down the freeway, and the gauges swept widly, then just layed at zero for 70 miles. were like wtf?. then at a stop light the van is shuddering like crazy, she goes to accelerate, all you hear is : ZZZZZZZzzzzZZZzzzz. the transmisssion wont grab. 2500 to fix!

I say keep looking for a good V6 so you get the reliability of a larger motor but still don't completely eat all the gas in the world (and money in your pocket)
Never been a fan of the 4 cylinder cars and I personally love my V6 monte carlo, plenty of power to zip around and yet gets 35 MPH @ 70 on the highway

i say cobalt ss, save that extra 1-2 g's to get some upgrades.

id get the Cobalt, much more stylish and modern. Cheaper, newer, cheaper to run.

is your monte carlo SS?
Yeah, about 260 horse with the cold air intake and exhaust.
I've driven the cobalt and it doesn't handle as well as my dad's impala, although I drive my Monte with a sports package and low pro tires so it's hard to compare
If you are going to choose between these two, go for the cobalt and add some stuff to make it handle and more enjoyable (1000 into the sound system never hurts)

a good friend of mine has one and she went from cavelier to cobalt. when you see her pull up it seems like someone told her she won 100000 dollars. b/c she has the biggest smile on her face. ive also heard some people say the handling is not the best but you are getting it stock. so if you upgrade to lets say 5150 or racing susp. then im sure it would handle better.

hmmm, i would think that the cobalt is a front driver, it would have over steer, compared to the camaro's RWD which would make understeer and plow. The cobalt is gonna be sleeper, no body kits (already like the stock one), maybe but different rims, put a bigger turbo, a cold air intake, POSSIBLY bore it out, straight pipes (in PA, theres so much woods cops cant hear you lol), as for the interior, roll cage, racing seats, accent lighting, sould system, i probably wont upgrade. sound system is the :censored: of car modding lol
@ Reaper - the cobalt im getting is the newer SS, with 260 Hp, not the original supercharged 200 HP.
