be easieer to just run them all through the speakers and not the 5v spot i'd run 4 to the left and 4 to the right and they should work fine alot easier and less soldering

If you're doing direct contact, it won't work like that.

You need the resistors only when doing the LM386 method, or transistor method unless the LEDs have a really low forward voltage.

All you need to do for direct contact is wire them in parallel to the speaker contacts

no way, a resistor works by reducing the flow current in the circut, therfor making it dimmer. I recomend a resistor to be added when required, but make sure to work out the values as close as posible.

i would just do the direct contact still they will be alot brighter and like i said before less soldering and work just do 4 LEDs to each speaker and they should last forever unless you drop it in water or throw it lol LEDs have a long life span they will not die in a year the psp speakers don't have enough wattage to kill them that fast go to radio shack and get a piece of pc strip board cut out to small pieces and mount them behind the wifi card(one for the left set of LEDs and one for the right set of LEDs) and then you only have 1 set of wires running across the bottom of the psp to the speakers

if you are running 5v through a led that uses 3v. you are going to deminish the life span, no if ands or buts. you dont really think all these people are telling you to use a resistor, and all these LED resistor calculators were created for nothing do you?

if you use the correct resistor, they will be just as bright!!
