This topic is more aimed for PSP's, so please note if your talking about something else.
For my Big PSP mod I'm working on I spent a total of $170 not including the PSP. It makes me sad. :sadno:
I don't have a job or an allowance so I better not blow it. (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mysmiley.net%2Fimgs%2Fsmile%2Findifferent%2Findifferent0014.gif&hash=50042a2c8eb8510179e4167d80066a01c69902a4)

Eh, when I first started out, I spent about 300-400 on parts, tools, and I think a PSP and some other starting things. By now, my tools+supplies have probably reached 400-500 alone. :(
For my current project, I've spent:
80 PSP
20 Case
10 Powerboards
10 UMD Doors
20 Jewel
30 LEDs, and transistors (I'm not using all of them.. I just bought bulk packs)
-------------------------
170 USD.
I probably spent more than that though, because for this mod I also went and bought a Dremel. Modding is expensive, but oh well...

Here's pertty much what I bought, the price has now reached $200 for me as I forgot some things I needed. Anyway like I was saying this would be cheaper if I had all the tools but I need some, wire strippers (I used to used scissors), solder vacuum (a good metal one too) the de soldering braid looks to messy for me, xacto knife, wire.
I have seriously WAY too many parts I am buying to list, but here's the basic sutff I'm buying:
2n22222's
Cases
Jewel
audio jacks
switches
LEDs
connectors
ZIF connectors
ZIF jumper cables
speakers
100-ohm resistors
new tip
flux
tip tinner and cleaner solution
temp tats
and much more

Man, I've lucked out on my latest slim:
PSP: 40$
LEDs: 18$ (pack of 50 bought a while ago, only using 6)
Fading chip: 1$ (I :censored:ing love the dollar store)
Case, buttons, triggers nub, back ring: 30$
Camera: 76$
Nothing too fancy. Had to however replace the left contact pad and homebar, both of which I had extras.
Sooo 171$ CAD, 152$ USD.
I've been waiting forever to get blue trim.
But as justin said I've also probably spent about 350-450$ in total.

Yeah well modding's expensive... might as well get used to it. Btw, ELITE TURN OFF THE FRIGGIN SCROLLING THING IN YOUR SIG. IT IS REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING.
-
Yeah I know it's expensive.
Geez! fine no need to yell, just ask me nicely.
-
Sorry... it was just REALLY bothering me. Thanks. =D
Btw, how do you guys get the money for your mods?
I am just using money I've been saving over the years. (I never had anything to use it for until I discovered modding)
I am also using money I'm getting from modding things for others and selling things. Oh, b'day + Xmas money too XD
-
Ok np.
I earn it very.. slowly.. I earn about $20 every month or hard outdoor work, and almost nothing in the winter. Well modding is more fun in summer anyway cause you have off school so your free and your hands aren't cold all the time.
-
If I mod anything, than the money goes to more modding.
My recent project was from my tax return this year.
I planned exactly what I would buy with it, and now I got a new smexy PSP
-
ive spent up to $200
-
clear casing 16$
psp 50$
all my modding tools 20-30$
btw the backlight of the cellphones are the same size with 603..
but cheaper than 603...
