so i had this chip from a toy and it was powered by a 3 flat cell battery..

now what i want to know is how can i hook this to a 3.6v or 5v power source..

what resistors should i use for this one...any help would be much appreciated..

According to the resistor calculating program I have, it says you will need 9.0009 ohm. Just use a 10 ohm.  Thats when using the 3.6 volt source. You may want to let someone check that for you though.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly does the chip do that you are using?

hey buddy nice to hear from you again...

well the chip has 3 mode...

the still mode...alternating mode and alternating to fading :tup:

btw i found the switch that i've been looking for...

i'll try out the one on your diagram that blazin edited...
