Title: Duo 3 Ultra Prolems on PS2 Slim
Post by: RUMBLE on June 07, 2009, 12:00:22 PM
I've installed a Duo 3 Ultra chip in a PS2 Slim.  The chip is in and the machine recognizes it, as if you follow the instructions for disabling the chip, holding down start button on joypad one when you boot, the word 'disabled' appears on the screen.

The trouble I'm having is it won't read disks.  DVD's, original game disks or backups.  It appears the drive never spins up all the way.  Once the disk is inserted, the console starts spinning the disk, then spins it down.  It repeats this process 2 to 3 times, there is a clicking noise coming from what appears to be the drive motor, and then it just stops spinning and I get a bad data on disk error.  If I disconnect the power to the chip, leaving all the other wires hooked up, the slim works fine.  Can anyone give me some direction?
