Title: Can i use an 8 pin socket for 12f683?

Is it possible to use an 8 pin socket in my controlller to take the PIC chip so i can easily remove and update it? (The chip). Would it have to a certain kind of socket or would any 8 pin socket work. Would you wire the socket the same way as the chip?

Yes it would work, and wire it excatly the same...
