The sliding motorized door on my stereo no longer works like it used to. I got in of the Christmas of 06 so it's quite modern. But now when I try and open it I can hear the motor trying to rev up and failing. I mean the motor did not exactly die. What can I do to fix this other then hunting all over to buy a perfect size motor at even close to the correct voltage to replace this?

You sure it's not jammed?

Yeah, I checked nothing is getting in the way of the door track. It sounds at a lower pitch then it used to if you know what I mean.

What make/model is it?
I've had a similar issue with my RCA RS2052 system:

Great thing, but for the longest time I had some CDs stuck in it. I just tore it apart yesterday, but I wasn't about to fully dismantle the CD slot mechanism cause it's way complex.
But if you got an RCA CD player, best thing to do is tear it apart and see if there's something that is broken or loose. If you have the same model I have, I could give you a hand in taking it apart.

Nah it's a Philips MC235B.

they sometimes use a little rubber o-ring as a belt to turn the gear on the door. check to see that it hasn't broken or worn down.
