Title: Barebones kits and RAID0
Post by: H-Sauce on June 19, 2009, 11:52:06 PM
Whose ever used one?  Do you think they are a good idea?

And can someone please clarify what RAID0 is for me, I've got a vague idea, is it where it makes 2 HDD's appear as one? Or am I completly wrong? Lol.

"RAID 0 (striped disks) distributes data across several disks in a way that gives improved speed and no lost capacity, but all data on all disks will be lost if any one disk fails. Although such an array has no actual redundancy, it is customary to call it RAID 0."

As long as the motherboard that comes with the barebones kit supports Raid 0, then you're perfectly fine to use it.
