CAN SOMEONE HELP ME COMPUTE THE RISHT RESISTORS FOR THIS?.. PLEASSE?.. IM REALLY A NOOB..
14 BLUE LEDS
VOLTAGE
3.0-3.2
I (mA)
20
MCD
150-200
PLEASE HELP.. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.. AND WHAT DO YOU SAY TO A CLERK WHEN BUYING A RESISTOR?.. IM SORRY TO ASK THIS BUT IM REALLY A NOOB.. AND I WANT TO HAVE BRIGTER LEDS THAN DOING THE DIRECT CONTACT.. AND WHATS THE RISK OF USING THIS?..
-
this will help you...http://ledcalc.com/ (http://ledcalc.com/)

There were these things i used to use when i was a noob. It was called opening my :censored:ing eyes, and searching a little. There has to be at least 200 threads on this exact topic. Also it makes you look like a douche when you TYPE IN ALL CAPS.
-
Also it helps to know Ohm's Law.
I don't feel like typing everything out but here is a good site: http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/Hbase/electric/ohmlaw.html (http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/Hbase/electric/ohmlaw.html)

im so sorry mr. jumbo.. i am not good at computers.. but i will try to learn more about it.. im sorry to disturb you but i just wanted to have my psp modded.. i better at soldering than using comp.. thanks for the advice people..

im doing the lm386.. and what do i put in the supply voltage?.. i just dont understand why they used 191k and 30k.. someone pls help?..
-
here is the link, as long as its setup the same as the pic it should work fine.

the reason the resistors are the ones they are is testing. and no one is being mean there are alot of ways to find the info, but i would just follow the drawing to the T. and it should work fine.
and when looking for info, it helps to give as much info as possible. i hope this helped, if you have more Q's IM me thanks.

thanks for the reply mr. injungleist.. it helped me.. one last thing.. can you put 14 leds on the right or left speaker without distorting the sound?.. what do I put in the forward voltage thing?.. 5v or 3.6v?..
-
If you are using the lm386 then you are only receiving the signal from the left or right speaker. The lm386 is supplying the voltage for the leds. you go with the 5v supply for the chip, and the chip supplies the 3.6 on the output for the leds. I have done this mod and it works well. I had lots of questions when I started as well but I also did about 3 weeks worth of reading before I started. Good Luck. pretty easy mod.

if you're going to buy the resistors tell the clerk that you are asking for the 1/4 watts...
it will save you a lot of room...afaik it's hard to find 190k in our country so i suggest
you do a series connection...

atomicareprise:
am i going to ask a 1/4 watts for for the 30k & 190k ohms resistors?...
jakxxx:
so in the led calculator you will input 3.6 in the operational voltage?..
parallel solution: 14 array with one LED
+ 3.6 V R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
R = 20 Ω
* the wizard recommends a 20 ohm resistor with at least 1/8 watts (125 mW).
the resistor dissipates 8 mW.
* the power loss is 112 mW.
* the diodes dissipate 896 mW.
* total power dissipated is 1.01 watts.
* the array draws current 280 mA from the source.
this is the result?.. so i use 20 ohms?!.. im really confused.. because its using two resistors.. someone help plss?..
