Having an 11 year old daughter who’s DS mad I have a steady stream of DSs from her mates that need fixing. You know the type of thing, broken hinges, cracked screens and the "I WANT LIGHTS IN MY DS!" kids. Over the past few months ive started cutting 360s up and really enjoy it.
Is there such thing as a professional modder? I’m not saying im good enough to give up my day job, not by any means!
If you fix, mod or repair consoles is it worth your while?

It depends really if your getting a steady amount of work and demand. I personally mod the PSP range, more for fun than trying to make money. I've found there is not really a steady amount of demand from people wanting the consoles modded. I've had times where i've been rushed off my feet then had a quiet few months.
If you get good advertising and fair prices then there is money to be made, not mega bucks but enough to justify the work. Plus it's fun to do.

I guess this could give you alot of extra cash in your pockets.
but these are little kids that are 11 I mean they are going to
get all the coins from their piggy bank and only have like $15.
and some mods and labour are worth more then $15.

i say the best way to make money if you enjoy modding whould be to work in a repair shop fixin tv's and so

Majority of the people here live at their parents place, how are they suppose to tell you if they can live off modding?
In general that question is stupid, you can earn a little money off modding, but can't make a living from it, unless you someone manage to get a steady flow of costumers and make like 1.5k$ a month.

Ben Heck makes a living off modding...

It really depends... I mean, Rocky fixes DSs and sells them on ebay, sometimes even modded, along with various modding parts/tools, and it looks like it's what he does for a living... I mean, look at the amount of DSs he has:

Personal opinion though, you definitely won't make as much as you would having a real profession, but you COULD make some nice extra cash, depending on how you go about it.

I wouldnt try too. Get a real job.
If you like to repair stuff so much, open a repair store. Dont hope that your daughters friends are such noobs forever they give you consoles.

Agreed. there are lots of stores that offer repair services, hacking services, etc. But they can't make money solely on hacking and repairing things. They also sell games, game consoles, game accessories, etc.
