Title: Adding a fan.
Post by: EliteGamer83 on July 17, 2009, 10:21:41 PM
Here is a pic of the side panel of my PC, Do you think it would make a difference if I screwed a 120mm 90 CFM fan over the holes? I need a cheap cooling solution for my little compact PC (besides watercooling).

Where would the fan be blowing at? If you have a temp sensor, you can check if it helped or not.

It would be a *sucking* fan or aka a fan that will draw OUT air not blow it forward. I would screw it on the outside of the case, and drill another hole to lead the cable in.

One other thing, I may be making a total fool of myself by asking this. But I'm a bit new to PC things. Do they have a 3 way fanbus cable? I am having 2 fans, + the heatsink fan.

Can you get a pic of the inside of the case. If you do get a fan, you plug it into the power supply so you don't need a splitter.

Yea he can either connect it to the power supple or if the fan has a 3 pin connector he can connect it to the motherboard. What size fan are you planning to use Elite.

Yeah I would have to dissemble the whole thing to get to the PSU, so I am going to use the motherboard contact. The motherboard contact is 4 pin though.

I would be using x2 120mm fans on the side of the case.

and I do have a pic of the case, it's in the OP.

There are 3 pin connectors and 4 pin connectors. It all depends on the motherboard...obviously.
