Title: what resister would i need for this?
Post by: F4thAcE on July 22, 2009, 07:41:12 PM
okay so i did my friends controller for rapidfire and it does't work well in his controller i swapped chips into my controller to make sure it works and it did fine (actully it worked better than my chip) im useing the 555 radio shack brand chip and it just kinda dies alittle more after each use it fires in a unreliable burst so if i put in a resistor from the board to the chip could i put it down to the voltage of a wired controller (3.7V??) its at 5v for  the wired controller

Sorry I can't answer the resistor question :sadno:, but I can tell you why it dies (I'm pretty sure you know already but.. :dntknw:) There's too much power going into the 555 timer causing it to burn out :faint:, just like when soldering a wire directly to the chip with a high voltage (or heat) soldering iron .

yeah all i need is a way to turn the 5v's down to 3.7v's

to get it to 3.7v you will need a 68ohm 1/8W resistor or something close to that.  :victory:
