I did what he said, too scrap the edges of the solder out. But no luck for me.
I also try to de-solder it but found it never worked instead it just burnt a plastic piece of my psp-__- don't worry it minor and can't be seen. :help:
So any ideas to remove this ugly orange led :x:
-
Just keep trying with the blade bits at a time. When i did it i desolder it i burned some but i got the led off and got the led i want on.
-
Ok thanks. How long did it took you to remove it?
I've been scraping it for minutes at least 10 and it hard to come off.
Should i Scrape 1 side and then lift the led and scrap through it?
-
I would say like my first took me like 20 minutes. Yea do it on each side back and forth but make sure u dnt dig into your mobo.
-
Alright thanks for you tips.
Hope I don't scrape my board too much.
Over and out.

The top pic is the razor i use all the time.

Thank you so much W-gaming.
If it wasn't the pictures I couldn't find any other sharper tool.
and I do have the bottom image and is much more effective.
-
Thats good hope it works out.
-
Crap.. I scraped out a mini resistor and i don't know which side is which and upside down.,.
-
Pictures would help. If it's one of the surrounding ones, I don't think it really matters if you're using a blue LED - in fact, it'll make it look even better.
-
It the resistor below the memory led. the single one.
Good thing about removing the resistor by accident allows me to pop the led out in the middle. It out now, but I need to clean the contacts so it can provide power and there's solder on it. How do I remove it? Use the soldering gun?
-
Ohh you sure bustin i never did that before so i dont know.
-
Heres the image

Did you lose the resistor that was there.
-
Nope luckly I found it, I just lost a screw and i found it
Thing is
A) How can I remove more solder on the memory led contact
B) The resistor I don't know if it upside down, or which side of the resistor goes to the left pin or the right pin surface.
-
Ok good jsut hold on to it and bustin will say if its ok if you can keep that one off.
A) You take your soldering iron place it on the contact and at the same time take the blade and scrap off the extra solder.
B) Usually with resistors it doesnt matter witch way its soldered on but i could be wrong. So i would wait for bustin to reply and have it on hold.
-
I found out the resistor place has good volt.
I've placed my led on the resistor just for fun and wow it glows brightly
-
Lol alright then never mind. :hifive:
-
If Bustin approves the resistor below the LED is not needed but just for extra volt safety idk.
So I'll make my memory led green
and use the resistor spot for this blue 1 I have putted on just for fun testing.
Busting, when your on. Can you help me check the volts on that resistor spot and do you think i can install a led there also?

Updates:
Success of replacing the memory led into BLUE.
So, Bustin is the resistor really needed? If not I might just add a blue led onto it. I don't know effect without one.
-
I dont know if you can add one there because it may drain the power because its not meant to have another led there from what i have seen.
