I was reading up on the psp go to decide whether or not I should buy it and noticed that the Go doesn't have a mini usb port on it. Instead it uses it's own PROPRIETARY cable!

Now this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it can be use to add on accessories but it can also be used in a wrong way.

Sony will be releasing software called Media Go to help users manage the PSP's content on their PC (this replaces the older, and not terribly useful, Sony Media Manager software). The company is also promising a feature called "Sense Me" that will analyze your music library to play music based on a mood you choose.
If this turns out to be another itunes I guarantee you I WILL NEVER BUY IT!!! I do not want to go thru five or six doors just to transfer a movie to my psp. It's okay if it's ONLY for games, sony does have to have a way to combat piracy I'm all for it but I do NOT want a locked down device like Apple's ipod. That is the whole and only reason why I do not use the ipod and why I love my current psp. I hate not being able to share stuff or having to wait 10 mins to transfer a movie as opposed to 30 secs for the same movie.

Any thoughts/comments?
EDIT: btw does anybody else also hate itunes or is it just me?

Almost like the ipod connection or those new samsung mp3 cables.
-
yes i understand... i hate itunes aswell.... it deleted all my 20+ movie rips from my ipod classic for no reason and says my ipods cis currupted even when its perfectly fine.. and then after like 2 days it has no problems with it...
i really do wan want the psp go to be the same thing... i like the old copy paste method... far more reliable than having a software "sync" it
-
yeah that's the main selling point to me. If I have to have a software to use a media player I won't get it.
-
Yea that what i like bout the psp the drag and drop.

i used to hate itunes until i switched to ubuntu, now i miss it more than i thought possible. and the copy and paste method was good, i dont want to install software to transfer my games. hopefully they will also have some sort of wifi app built in to the psp for downloading games.

MediaGo is free software, I just wish that it wasn't windows only.
