Title: xcm core cooler v2 short?

i got the xcm core coolers v2 bout a month ago and they have been working i opened my xbox so i could throw paint on and flash the disc drive

i flashed properly and the disc drive works if i have it pluged straghit into the xbox or the xcm air cooler v2 its when i plug it in threw the core cooler's power spliter thing that i loose power to the disc drive but the fans still work

so the problem is with the spliter

can i just solder the core coolers to a different 12v source?
and
if so where would i find that?

 there is a pinout of the 360 motherboard.. not sure about the splitter though... hmm

cool yeah then i could throw a pot on there so i could quiet those fans down when i want
