Title: YLOD what do I do

I got the ylod on mah 40g at the worst possable time. Right when i bought 40.00 game cards for the psn store and i was about to enter the second line of the code for one of them, when bam ps3 cut off I was like WTF hit the power button and YLOD!!!!!!!!!!
i want to send it to sony BUT WTF 150 BUCKS BS!
i could just if a bust ps3 on ebay that does not have the ylod but some problem like the blu-ray is not working and just swap parts.
i could reflow my mobo and possable :censored: mah failstation 3 up for good.
or sell the damn thing no ebay for $$$
what would you guys do

I would relfow it, its really simple just follow the step by step tutorial on youtube the best tutorial is the one by gilsky. I re flowed mine recently it took about 3 hours from start to finish.

I like the tutorial by gilsky better and the psu's are around 40 on ebay

i was thinking i don't have a heatgun but what if i buy some ones busted ps3 from ebay like one that has a broken blu-ray drive. Could i swap my working blu-ray for the broken one and would it work?

You could sell it to me and I could fix it for myself, if it is truly just YLOD and all else is good.. Offering $50 shipped to 45202 :) legit paypal verified address...

I'd recommend against trying to screw over your fellow PS3 enthusiest by not disclosing everthing.

PS3's on Ebay with just a broken blu-ray drive sell for $140+ on ebay which is rediculous given the recent price drop....
