Title: PSP Phat USB charging?

So far from what I've seen, you're able to charge your PSP 1000 through the USB through either a solder or solderless method. However on EBAY I've come across a product like this:

Basically one cable allowing for data transfer and power charging through a USB port for your PC. Is this type of cable legit? Does it actually allow you to charge your PSP 1000 through a USB cable without any modding to it?
