Post by: socomhacker239 on August 30, 2009, 09:41:02 PM
I have a ps3 that recently ylod and i fixed it and about two weeks later it ylod again! so my question is what if i re flow it and build in 2 120 mm fans into the top would it last awhile?. i have it planned out to where im going to install the fans i found the source that is creating all this heat. so overall the ps3 would stay quite cold. i have calculated it will stay some where around 30-40 degrees.

I honestly dont see how it wouldnt work, unless YLOD is something like RROD. If u think about it, what have u got to loose but time? Id say go for it.

Putting 2 120mm fans would help out a bunch. But try not to run them off the PS3 itself. Its like the 360, USB powered fans kill the system cause it draws more power from the PSU. When the PS3 first came out there was a fan system that had 5 little fans and it used a 120volt outlet plug. I suggest something that runs seperate from your PS3.

Like many have said reflowing a PS3 is not a perma-fix for YLOD the only way to perma fix a YLODd PS3 is to send it to sony and they send you a refurb or buy a new PS3 or a used one.

And please dont spam the board with the same topics thats why i merged all into 1 last time.
