Title: DS shell replacement help please
Post by: janeyjacksmum on September 14, 2009, 05:37:30 AM: I have spent 2 days replacing the shell on my sons DS i have successfully, so I thought completed the terrible task. The DS now only goes on for a second and then goes back off I,ve checked all wires etc and everything seems right. What have I done wrong is it broken.

Free of dust, Locks in place, ribbon cables IN all the way, wi-fi board IN snug, ALL FOAM PADS back in place to prevent electrical shorting....also, THERE IS a FUSE inside the DS Lite. Google it, or search it here in AcidMods.

I took apart my DSL and put it back together. I had the SAME problem.

The light turns green.....gets a lil brighter..........then screen flashes and DS shuts off auto motto blotto gotto.

My PROBLEM was that one of the ribbon cables that connects the digitizer to the motherboard wasn't fully connected.

I tested the DS with everything connected WITHOUT putting it all back together....and Everything was running Fine.

.......THEN i put all that junk back where it post be.

Post by: bustinthejustin on October 07, 2009, 05:08:42 PM: This happens when a connection of a major part isn't fully connected. This could be your screens, wifi/bios modulator thing, etc.

That's true but there could be two exposed wires that are touching. There aren't many.

Actually, no.
This is because the screens aren't in all the way or the fuse(s) are blown.

not necessarily... ive shorted things inside of xboxs, and had them still on and running...
whos the genius now?
