If lm386 amp is used...
1. If the outputs to the leds are short.. will the chip fry or the mobo?
2. If the input voltage to the chip is short will it fry my mobo?
3. and if wrong resistors is used will it burn the mobo? (the ones to the chip and to the output.)
4. what are the chances in frying my mobo if i use lm386?
sorry for the noobish questions..
-
1. If the LEDs short out, you need to fix it and restart PSP.
2. I'm not sure but I fryed a mobo once when testing the LM386.
3. You shouldn't be using the wrong resistors if you bought the right kind.
4. Very slight chance but I recommend doing direct connect because it reacts better for me.

Thanks for answering.. I already tried direct contact but im not satisfied with the brightness of the leds.. Is there another way that will make the leds brighter with lower risk? And if you fry your mobo is there a way you can save it?
-
theres the 2n2222 transister method, but ive heard you only get the correct results if you use it in a slim psp (2000).
If you fry your mobo, no there is no way to save it. be careful.
-
so if you use the transister there is no risk in frying your mobo?.. what are the reasons why mobos fry?.. does anyone already tried transister in phat?
sorry for askin too many questions..
-
additional question...hehe...
can fried mobo be saved by bridging the power fused??
my mobo burned when i tried direct LED mod.. :(
-
no
-
any particular reasons??very curious...heheh...sorry bro...thank u...

How could you burn motherboard by doing the direct LED mod? I only fried a motherboard when doing it with a Lm386. I been doing the direct connect now and it works very well.

i think i use the wrong wires i guess..i think the wire touch the mobo..i am not putting the LED in the triger..but instead i putted it near the controller...then i putting all the LCD frame with out turn the psp off...then it happen...:(
so is there anyway i can repair it?

Usually it just shorts out if it touches the metal frame. If the wires shorted something out on the motherboard then it is probably fried. I made a horrible mistake of shorting out my iPod Touch mobo and now it is fried.
