Title: DS Lite touch screen ribbon cable connector broken (Large one)
Post by: zombiebaconchez on September 30, 2009, 04:51:10 PM
Long time reader, first time poster.
Unfortunately, my fat fingers have broken the connector on the bottom touch screen.  Came cleanly off the board. I have seen the replacements, but wanted to know if anyone has done this out there.  I've replaced power switches, slot 1 and shoulder button switches, but this seems like it might be out of my realm.  I'm probably going to have to buy a huge magnifying glass for this one as well. (Pictures, videos would be great)
Thanks all for your time,
Zombiebaconchez

you might be able to use hot glue to hold it down.  Just make sure you try the screen and make sure it works before gluing!

Thanks much for your idea... Not to sound stupid, put you would hot glue the edges, and as much as possible of the ribbon, but not the contacts themselves?  Again, I very much appreciate your insight.

your  :censored: That's about all I can say.  The only way it would work if you somehow manage to solder it back on.   If it was just the clip you could use hot glue but this is different.
