Title: 12v source from dvd drive

Right I know it isnt a very good source but it got lazy and wired up 6 leds to the 12v source of the dvd drive. Will it really harm the dvd drive when I only wired up 6 led's to it? If so why?

I suggest just wiring it to the power supply pins. It's easier and safer.
I think you'll be fine using just 6 leds though. I'm fairly sure the problem with using those wires is the amperage you take from it, not so much the voltage.
You should be fine, though.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will wire em 2nite the power port of the 360 just to make sure. I knew I would end up opening it up again lol.
