Title: PSP Contacts Not Working?
Post by: Thorax on October 13, 2009, 04:05:03 PM
I have just about finished my 2nd modded PSP except I have one major problem. For some reason, the analog automatically drifts down and right as fast as it can go. I know this is a contact problem, but I can't figure out a fix for it. I've tried multiple rubber pieces and analogs and they don't work. If I solder 4 wires directly to the 4 contact points, will that fix it? Also, is there any other way to fix it?

Try to screw it down as tight as possible. If that doesn't work you need to solder it together.

I did that with multiple analogs and rubber connectors. I guess I'll start soldering and see if that works. If it doesn't, it's a mobo problem, right?

solder it in.
it is probably beacuse one of the contacts isn't touching the rubber piece.

I did that (Cleanest soldering job I've done) and it's still going down and right at full speed. I'm guessing it's a mobo problem.

When you take the joystick off and press on the contacts, the arrow will move around. I had the same problem and it was because the faceplate was too loose.
