Title: So ya i got my copy of Win 7 Home Premium 3 days early
Post by: ProperBritish on October 20, 2009, 12:59:56 AM
good old Postal Strikes, PC world sent it early to avoid them and broke release date. ;D so im sitting here rocking win7 64-bit on my laptop =D

also, any people that just want to complain about how i could get it for free elsewhere, i dont want to hear it. without windows, my PC wouldnt even do anything, so i paid for it. credit where credit is due

yeah its running realll smooth, i had a couple graphics driver issues, due to Sony locking off nVidia drivers to ones nVidia had given Sony to mediate for their Vaios. But i used Modified INF drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com (http://) (http://) to fix that. I just bought a Windows 7 Sticker to seal the deal lol. I use the taskbar now, dare i say it, like a dock.

I assume you like Win7?

I've been rockin it since the beta came out (Build 7000) and luckily for me I'm able to get a free upgrade cause I bought an HP laptop within a certain time bracket :D

It's really awesome. using Vista just feels weird after being used to 7 for so long

it looks REALLY nice, makes me want it more then i did before. but due to the lack of CD/DVD drive on my laptop (and lack of money)...i might be having to go without it for a while.

lol that's fake

when you hover over the start button in 7 the ToolTip is 'Start', not 'Click Here to Begin'

Paint is completely overhauled in win7, and you're using windows messenger, which isnt available for win7, the minimum is Windows Live Messenger.

or is yours meant to be a theme of some sort? i originally interpreted it as 'i got my copy close enough.'

its just a theme, dont remember the name of it, but all i was looking forward to was the start bar, and as i said. its close enough...till i get the real version of win7. for now, im stuck with winXP....7

and i have WLM. i just dont usually spend time logging into it. i just stay in windows messenger.

Whoo for the Government getting things early. I've got the disk sitting downstairs. I just don't want it >.<; I might stick it on an extra laptop but I'll probably just stick with Linux and XP

I got a guy I work with to give me his copy because he wasn't going to use it. So I plan to send one to a friend that recently started college and I'll keep a few for myself.

Seriously, the army doesn't do anything with these... They just sit there and we sign for them and people either take there copy or give then away or leave them in the supply room.

It's funny to see how money is just thrown away.

no, it doesnt. you're only licensed to use a key a certain amount of times. unless by some magical method you acquired an OEM key from Dell which will work on multiple keys. But how youd manage that before the release of windows 7 is beyond me.

Yea thats why you get that windows genuine after a certain time.
