hi ive managed to swap 1,2,3 but 4 i tore the bottom bad off (positive connection) any one know of a alternative soldering point, ive bridged the 3 pos to 4 pos, but that just makes the 4 led another 3 led. (reason i bridge was just to keep all 4 lights working until i can fix 4)

i think you just need to put a :censored: load of solder over the 4 positive hole and the connect the smd

nah that wont work as the pad has come off so theres no connection below it just want to see if anyone knows if there was another solder point

yer it was my fault for forcing the red led off

yea if its the pos
all u can do is connect it to another leds pos but it dosnt look good
if u were lucky u woulda messed up the neg end
all u would have 2 do is connect to 3's neg terminal. or shave the board till u hit copper. but not as easy. my 2 cents

The LEDs in the PS3 controllers are in a Common Anode setup, which means all of the + sides are tied together. It's the Cathode (- side) that gets turned on/off and what is damaged on your controller. The only other place to solder to is on the Via of that LEDs - trace or the back side of the board on a SMT Resistor bank. If you let me know exactly which version it is I can show you exactly where to solder to, but, and no offense intended, from the looks of the soldering on the LED install you should probably cut your losses for now because the repair job will be a bit more difficult.

Great, another R/F tutorial where a pic of mine was used without permission. I wouldn't mind it so much if those tools sent me $5 for every kit or controller they sold, or at the very least asked for permission to use it, but I digress..

You can try and solder to either Via, or go right to the Resistor Network, just be sure too not don't run the wire where it will get pinched when putting the controller back together.
