over here they have a building full of IT specialists to protect the school for virus and downlaoding and using torrents and that stuff.

they forgot one thing....

securing the WLAN.

I do. Although our school ITs don't block much, they do block most websites including AM.

well i guess i might as well tell people i set up a web proxy for my sister and friends that may need it so i will share with you.

www.myvectorshop.com (http://)

please only use it yourself for personal use and dont go spreading it around elsewhere. and only use it for legal means as it does log urls and IP addresses and if i am contacted by law enforcement i wont hesitate to hand over those details

my school IT teacher is a dumbass.. I could implant a virus and leave it on the desktop and he wouldn't notice.
I recovered his password once without "hacking" .

my school district hires whitehats to monitor and control the systems, ive been slowly working my way around it, theyve disabled soo much stuff too and half of my stuff wasnt even harmful, but they still cant find a way to block ghosting

Hey Robin, according to some people the link shows up as censored for everyone who has the censor in place...

meh... proxies don't work at my school because we can ONLY use IE and the https work around doesn't work...

this doesnt need https and it works in IE as far as i know - have you tried it?

Proxies have nothing to do with the browser.

yeah i tried it earlier (at my robotics meeting) and it said the reason that the web washer blocked it was because it was a proxy...

and kicks, if it works in firefox, and doesnt work in IE i would assume that they do.

indeed it works in firefox.  but it may not have worked because i tried the secure workaround (https) by default... monday i will try to just do http

I repeat, it has nothing to do with the browser.
You have a browser based web filter on top of your server based web filter most likely.

I know the proxy itself has nothing to do with what browser you use, but the filters at my school wont let me get to them unless i am using https on firefox, chrome safari opera and IE all block them. i am going to try without using https monday though.

ugh, to clear this up before kicks goes all blarg youre dumb. most schools have a server filter, that blocks all types of web browsers, some have just browser filters, meaning they only anticipate the people using one browser, so the block only works in that, some have both, the ones that have both expect there to be just one but are ready for both

The IT guy at our school thinks he has THE most secure setup on the planet. The teachers have a wireless network around the school and students have a wired network, but the idiot still uses stone age WEP security,a couple of minutes of packet sniffing and BOOM,I get access to an unfiltered, wireless network with perfect reception around the school.....KACHING!
