Title: New Xbox Update
Post by: robin1989 on October 25, 2009, 06:42:24 PM
hey so what do you guys think of the twitter, facebook, last.fm, zune marketplace features etc

i got into the preview program so have been playing around with it a bit

ive only played with facebook and twitter for a short time and there ok nothing to go shouting about but i guess if your in between games it can make it easier to check your :censored: out. also with facebook at least it seems like you will be able to search your facebook friends for xbox friends and vice versa which would make it easier to hook up but i think that feature will only work properly when it has been out for public consumption.
the last.fm feature seems good and i can see it been used when we have friends round before going out use it to get the music pumping whilst we play some beer pong. and the zune marketplace feels quick and seems to have some good film content - i havnt bought anything yet to try it out and see what the quality is like but i will in due course.

now the main feature i have been looking forward to is the SKY TV integration but i cant test that yet as they dont turn it on for another day or two so as soon as they do turn it on i will be giving it a go and reporting back.

but overall it isnt a major update but of what they seem to have updated during my brief play with it is good and they havnt seemed to break anything so its all good in my book

apart from the fact they are disabling non-Microsoft memory, possibly including homemade harddrives (god no).

well they have now finally (4 days ago) enabled the sky tv player and i have had time to play around with it and i must say for a starting offer it is very good. i love the on demand films and tv shows and most of the enabled streaming channels work as well. overall a very good service and set out nicely. now weather i would pay £15 a month for it i dont know but as we have the full sky package for our TV we can use the xbox 360 sky player for free so its all good. i do like that all the movies on it are free so if im bored i can just go and watch one of over 400 films.

now microsoft and netflixs get your but into gear and start offering that service over here
