Wikipedia:

Quote
Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce anxiety, by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing anxiety, or by combinations of such thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions). The symptoms of this anxiety disorder range from repetitive hand-washing and extensive hoarding to preoccupation with sexual, religious, or aggressive impulses. These symptoms can be alienating and time-consuming, and often cause severe emotional and economic loss. Although the acts of those who have OCD may appear paranoid and come across to others as psychotic, OCD sufferers often recognize their thoughts and subsequent actions as irrational, and they may become further distressed by this realization.

So basically OCD is a mental disorder where the person who has it becomes obsessed with doing repetitive things, Such as repeatedly washing your hands, hoarding things, etc.

Well the person could seem paranoid or anxious and I think mentally they could be quite disturbed, depending on how they're OCD.

I think it's been covered, but also highly embellished.

My OCD is needing things to be even/straight. Like picture frames hanging on a wall, for example. I think I have another but I don't notice it.

OCD can manifest itself in different ways and can flair up at different times. Anything from just having to straighten photo frames to full on compulsive behavior like cleaning the house constantly and by that I mean they may like Hoover 4-5 times a day and go round the house constanly checking if the unused plugs are turned off or the doors are locked. I have some OCD tendanys but it's only mild so doesn't affect my day to day life much. As other people have said it depends how severe she has it

Same here... I have some OCD tendencies but its not severe.. I have a tendency to clean stuff... Also , i have a severe tendency to ummm.... tap my fingers ... like as if i;m playing the piano .. but i do it at a very fast pace and can keep doing it all day long.... i have to try hard to control it.

I have a real mild OCD... It only happens when I'm walking and listening to music. I always have to time my foot steps to the kick and snare/clap... Problem is, I look really weird as I mostly listen to music with tempos of above 160 BPM....

I have OCD (as in proper full blown OCD) for *don't laugh* :

I can't be in a house unless every door and window in the house is closed.
Alphabetical order. (BIG ONE)
Always have to have something in my hand (phone, cigarette, pen etc.). (HUGE ONE)
You will never ever get me to stand in the centre of a room,no matter how small/big it is.
Symmetricity,if it ain't symmetrical,I don't like it.
Everything has got to be parrallel,i it ain't,I (yet again) don't like it.

Deoending on the degree at which she has it,it could range from some odd behaviour right up to unbearably annoying.Just remember it's not because of you she does it.

I have ocd which manifests itself through my tourettes. I:

Need to flip lightswitches both ways, and if i turn it on I have to turn it off.
Always need something to rub my fingertips against.
Things need to be symetrical.
I physically can't stop cracking my knuckles. (its nasty)
I get urges to touch hot burners and flames, which I have done often.
I need to touch the point of a knife I am holding to every one of my fingertips before i use it.

In short, it sucks. And the meds i took made me fat so i stopped taking them.

i think i may suffer from this but very mild.

i cant eat anything i touch... say a sandwich.. ill eat all of it apart from the corner im touching....
anything like crisps and nuts  that you eat with figners out of a packet. i dont eat at all.
or just crush the packet and pour it in my mouth.....
watching me eat a rack of BBQ ribs with a knife and fork must be quite funny....

also another thing i notice i do....
i smoke...
and if a smoke goes out i wont re-light it evan if i've only had 1 drag....
this get rather bad when playing xbox or working on something because i forget to toke the :censored: it goes out and i light up a fresh 1...
i've been through a whole 20deck in bout an hour cos i get letting them go out...

this worst part of this is the cost........
my mate dont mind as they'll quite happily re-light a :censored: and smoke it so they get all the ones i let go out lol

also as a disclaimer for the younger members.....
SMOKING IS BAD DO NOT SMOKE
