Do you guys work with idiots? I have my share of them here at my job. One of the department heads can not read micrometers. I made a part for for him that he had drawn up and it was .050" off. He tried to blame me but luckily I kept a copy of the print on my pc. He altered the one on the server to try and cover his butt. That backfired on him lol.
They seem to do whatever they can to complicate a job. I do cad/cam programming and CNC machining. Sometimes we will get a model in that was drawn by someone outside the shop who has obviously never machined anything. Long story short. A shock mount ended up having to be cut on a 5 axis machine and cost 1500.00!!
A simple redesign would have cut costs dramatically, but the engineer liked it because it looked "trick".

well dude,
some people are evrry good with their hands or verry technical.
other are good with communication between people and selling stuff.
you will need bith to end up with a good result.
loads of those technical people cant talk they are jsut to shy or something like that. most dont adfmit it but its true.
thats where the salesman/PR guy kicks in. he will explain the costumer it as easy as possible with his smooth talk.
If you cant convince them, confuse them
