Title: Turning DS Phat into a Big GB Micro by getting rid of top screen

I've been having this thought for a long time and decided to do something about it when I saw a DS Phat w/ broken top screen on ebay.

I got that broken DS from ebay today and detached top part (and wires/ribbon) and bottom screen doesn't work as I expected (it just flashed very briefly right after I press power button)

I dont' know much about modding and soldering stuff, but is there a way I can make it work so the bottom half of DS can be used to GBA player only??
