lol ya kinda, I make things "pretty" haha...

It was my first time using sound reactive boards, I like how small they are, but the PulseVU 2X chip is better, it has a greater difference in brightnesses. These sound boards are made for applications where space is a factor, if you have enough space, get a Pulse...

oh ya and I only used 13 LEDs, the lowest number yet, and it looks great...

Yeah good job.  I would do that but unfortunately the side where I would put in my window is in a place I would rarely see so I haven't bothered with too much PC light modding.

Nice work you just inspired me to do this on my new PC. Main reason would be that those LEDs are green lol. Second would be that you did an amazing job.! Good thing I have a Pulse VU 2x in an old scrap 360

Just wondering but could you help me out a little. I understand everything except for where I would get my audio signal. I know it would be from the front panel connector but what pins and such.

Thanks alot.

u have to look up your audio header pin out, then splice the two wires and attach to your board

Thanks I got it now. But I'm stuck on this now please help. How do I add the switch to change modes.

This diagram confuses me more then life itself.

Do I hook up one of the pins on the switch to 5v and then the other to the SW pad and then the pad to a 10k that goes to the - Pad.?

OR

Do I hook up one of the pins to 5v and then the other to a 10k and hook up the SW pad to the end of that 10k.

OR

Am I just completely lost.?

Help please. Thanks alot.

About the acidmods board, I'm pretty sure they had a even smaller one out right before the shop closed. Wait I think I still have one around here... Ok its not that much smaller but it seems they cut down some of the unused space. Its more rectangle shaped.

ya I got 3 regular boards, and 2 smaller ones...

and as for SW, all i did was plug one end into the 5volt rail, and the other to SW directly, I didn't have a resistor and any other wire, and it works great

 :boxed:

I think I fried my PulseVu 2x. I just realized I hooked it up to 12v instead of 5v. No wonder I couldn't get it to work... well I ordered another one already but as soon as I get home I am going to try hooking it up to 5v.

Do you think it'll still work.?

Thanks again and keep up the good work. Happy modding

would it be possible to rig up a transistor to allow this chip to power a cold cathode invertor?
Possibly using npn transistor emitter follower circuit?

i will talk to mike and see if he still has any left from the old shop but as of now there not in there i just have a few samples etc. yeh it doesnt have much scope as it was meant for the psp and psp slim so space was an issue. we may in the future develop a much more feature intensive chip that will provide loads of different effects but that is a while off.
