Okay well i desoldered the leds on a wireless cg board, but dont know what pionts are ositive and negative. Could someone please post a pic for this? Thanks!!
-
The top/high pad (for each led) is positive I believe.
CG means Common Ground. If in doubt, follow the pads and see which connect to another led. That's the ground side.
-
Sure thing.

Also, if you need full controller scans or button maps they have them under Controller Modifications in this post. (a lot of these tuts are links to other sites.) Also I think AM might have a tut with button maps and such, but the scans are kinda helpful for doing experimenting... :)

PIG !!! you could of posted links to my tutorial on contoller lighting.
1 its hosted on acidmods
2 i still use acidmods so can help and answer questions if needed
3 most importantly its here on Acidmods
so here's a link for it.
https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,33937.0.html (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,33937.0.html)
and also pig those pics of the pinouts are for the matrix wired and wireless pads, not the cg type board.
in my tut it shows that on a cg type pad. the fatter line near 1 end of the led marks the -
and the thinner line marks the +
-
Actually, read the thread.
CG is post #2...
-
indeed it is post 2...
but still matt has said to pig before to try not to link out to other sites. when the information is here on ACIDMODS.
-
Ah. Pretty sure it's a rule too...at least, an unwritten one.
But I digress..
-
yeah we should post link for our own site and stop linking other site ...
or if we don't have TUT or info and its good reason for some one to make it
or don't see the point of paying for a detecated server and robin putting so much time in to the site
that at the end we using other people TUT and picture
and i know for fact we got people here that make TUT way better than other site
-
exactly mike.. thats why i made that lighting tut in the first place... i had noticed lots of peole asking lighting questions and that we did not have a lighting tut on AM (and the only half decent tut for ABXY out there was llamma's)
so i made my tuts on xbox 360 controller lighting. in the hope that people who use Acidmods would link other users of Acidmods to them and not to lamma or X-S.
poeple should check these tuts out.
https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/board,425.0.htm (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/board,425.0.htm)
they are all now complete and show how to light every button on the controller including
-A,B,X,Y
-Start and Back
-the guide button/ X dome
-the triggers
-the bumper (LB RB)
-the d-pad
-and now the sycn button
and in the complete lighting thread it evan shows you how to change your ROL.
-
Ahhh.. Sorry guys. I know i'm not supposed to link to other sites, it's just that those are the only known scans that I know of of controller boards. I would make a tut but I don't want to take credit for someone's hard work.
-
i did it but the leds are crapping out. is thi cuz i got them off ebay? Is unqiue leds good quality?
-
idk, personally I try not to buy LEDs and other componentry from ebay since most of it is of inferior quality from china... most of that stuff is from china regardless of where you buy it, but the stuff on ebay usually seems to be either 'seconds' (ie: don't meet quality standards or have minor defects) or it's just plain crummy quality... that's my opinion... personally i source all my parts from mouser (http://www.mouser.com), it's in the states and they have a HUGE selection of everything you could possibly imagine. I get a print version of their catalog once in a while and it's thousands of pages of stuff, seriously it's like 4 inches thick... and on their site you can find data sheets for every part they supply... they also do bulk (and I mean bulk) discounts...

thanks for the god response. Whats your opinion on unique leds?
Post Merge: December 20, 2009, 07:03:20 PM
sorry, meant good.
-
I have used them in the past. They are fairly priced and all of the led's that I get from them are good quality. They include stickers on all bags with info such as part#, mcd and other such stuff for organizational purposes.
-
never used unique LEDS, I don't think... I usually use kingbright... never had a problem with them...
-
They are good too, also, if you are looking for any part ever digikey.com has all those products from all of those manufacturers.
