Hello, recently my psp (phat) battery died so I decided to make my own [PSP 3xAAA] battery mod. I found Neubit's tutorial and started reading it. But at a certain step is says "One of them is the actual battery and another is a circuit board. without that circuit board the PSP will not turn on which sucks" and it's true it does suck since when I was opening my battery it made a little shock and fried my circuit board. But then i thought of this.
If the psp shuts down after 1/2 sec with the 3xAAA battery with no circuit board it is sureley because the psp knows it's not suposed to work like that so I tried this...

The FX Powerspoof v0.3 Plugin.
It makes your psp think it has certain % of battery life (defined by a file from the plugin)
I used the AC adaptor to place the plugin and enable it.
I managed to modify the file and make it say that I have 83% and placed the 3xAAA battery in. Waited 50mins (to recharge) and took the charger out and it worked only for 1sec or so and shutdown... can someone please tell me why?
Thanks -fifarulez
p.s i think that the only solution is to make a battery thru the DC (5v) port...

Mmm, It shouldn't work....

Mmm, It shouldn't work....
Why do you say that? Got any proof?
-
I think he's saying that it's just impossible.
My guess it that it could work with the required plugin but we need more people to help you out.
anyone!
-
well i know a dude who made one a looong time ago.
but its a lot of work and not really worth it.
you need to circuit board for the % and for the psp to boot up and (as far as i know) to load cfw.
but i dont really get your point.
what do you want to know?
-
the circuit board is for voltage supply and charging regulation, this circuit board is absolutely necessary to do this mod.
That battery % spoof thing will not ever make this mod work without a circuit board...
-
Which circuit boardd are we talking about here? wheres it located?
-
inside the battary
-
yea well i guess its impossbile
-
like the great deda allways says: nothing is impossible if you just got the guts to try it out.
it's possible but its a big hassle.
-
well if you say so, but now i need to know WHY! lol
-
cant we recreate the circuit?
-
'great deda' wow admin has inflated you ego as well as your head... lol j/k
I don't know if we can recreate the circuit, but I know that without that circuit board inside the battery pack the only way you're getting that PSP to turn on is by powering it through the power plug...
-
nah dude thats jsut me:P
i like to joke around.
i know neubit tried to make a circuit board but it was a lot of work. it had loads of microchips on it as far as i remember.
-
I know deda, that's why I say j/k...
Never heard about whether or not neubit got that home made board working or not...
I do know that it is 100% necessary tho

theoretically speaking, yes you could make your own battery circuit board, but you would have to know exactly what each component on that circuit board is and what if anything is actually programmed to each IC on the board...
-
cant u just do what the charger does and connect to the internal pins this way u miss out the battery pos and neg and hit the mobo instead
-
yes sort of but that negates the purpose of the AAA battery mod
-
not really i mean u could always disconnect the battery pins and rewire to charger connections?
-
what if you when and disconnected the battery from the cicuit board and attached a battery holder to where the battery pack used to be connected, than you can just switch out the AAs when you need to...
