Ok guys well xmas is over (yay) and i was wondering how many of you had family members make you teach them how to use a new tech product they got?
me i had to setup and teach:
2 GPS's
2 PSP's
1 Wii and
1 360
how bout you?
-
1 xbox 360
a fossil watch
and a digital picture frame
-
Well I had non to do over Xmas as my family got there tech present early which was iPhones so I had to teach them all how to use them in September. The only tech support thing I did this Xmas was re-tune my grandparents tv after the digital switchover.
-
lol it seems like im tech support for my entire family even though my sister works for tech support xD
-
I had to help with cameras, digital picture frames, and stuff.
I also had to rewire my whole entire entertainment center with my wii, 360, n64, receiver, and cable box because I got a new HDTV and glass tiered TV stand. Looks awesome.

Got pics kicks? I wanna see
-
I will when I get home today.
Still gotta get one or two of those computer wire holders (those black tubes that you route wires through) to clean it up a bit more because at the distance I'm sitting in front of the stand, I can see a few wires in the back and it REALLY bothers me.

i had to show my mother-in-law how to use her digital picture frame, but I don't mind that... I used to be tech support for my whole family, but now I live halfway across the country so I told them I wouldn't do it any more... they don't bug me about it now...

lol i had to teach my sister how to set up her itouch, my dad how to setup his new netbook. I had to show my neighbor how to hook up his ps3.
-
I had to help my aunt with her new camera.
normally I pretend that I don't know too much about computers so I don't have to help everybody in the world about it. At one time it was so out of control that I said I will only help immediate family and not friends unless they are paying.

Till sometime back... everyone in the neighborhood used to call me for every little tech problem they had... like even if they couldnt setup skype on their PC , it was i who had to come. of course all of this was without pay n i was supposed to do anything they required me to do... eventually i just stopped showing up , now all my neighbors dont talk to me... but atleast i dont have to work like that for them...

People come to me for help every day. I get paid depending on the person.
I also had to setup my grandpa's new netbook.
-
1 psp
2 itouch's
i'll probably end up setting up their new router tonight and i had to help them connect to wifi on both the psp and itouch, and two netbooks.
i'll also be setting up and teaching a new router w/ wifi and setting everyhing up on a new laptop at my dads house, and soon a new entertainment center with god knows what there soon.
some kid asked me to put cfw on his psp so i did then he accidentally updated it back to official firmware on xmas and now wants me to do it again, for free.
my friend talked me into agreeing to help him build a pc after he saw mine. biggest mistake of my life, he now calls me at all hours of the night to ask me the same questions about what parts to get. i'll probably end up building it with(for) him this week with his christmas money.
all for free, and this is just within the past week and a half.

i set up what ever anyone needs me to. i enjoy helping people and i only ask for compensation if i actually have to open a desktop and fiddle around in there.
-
it gets annoying though when you dont even have time to relax xmas day cause your phone wont stop going off >.> then my parents yell at me cause im not watching this kid open presents cause im trying to help this one with their new tech.

That's funny. I also had to teach both sides of my grandparents how to use their digital picture frames. I got each side one. I uploaded a bunch of pics and had to teach them over the phone. My instructions were "Just plug it in, and press ON..." :)
